Commuter Benefits
Administered by Anthem
Save on commuting expenses with commuter benefits. When you open a commuter account, you can save on transit, parking, and vanpooling expenses.
You may elect coverage for transit or parking (but not both) through Workday.
If you elect to participate in commuter benefits, you will be issued a debit card to pay for expenses. When you use your Anthem debit card at participating commuter vendors, there is no need to submit your receipts. If your vendor is not participating, you will receive notification to submit your receipts by Anthem.
If you choose to not use your debit card, you will need to use your personal credit card to pay for parking or transit and then submit for reimbursement. Jnana subsidizes this benefit up to $415 per month,* subject to applicable tax rules.
*Does not apply to transfers to Otsuka.

Eligible Commuter Benefit expenses include:

-
Mass transit: Transit passes, tokens, fare cards, tickets, or similar items for mass transit to and from work, including bus, rail, and ferry.
-
Vanpool (included in mass transit): Vanpooling requires a commuter highway vehicle that seats at least seven people, including the driver. This is not the same as carpooling. At least 80% of the vehicle mileage must be for transporting you between work and home.
-

-
Parking: Parking expenses incurred at or near work, or at a location from which you commute to work by carpool, vanpool, or mass transit.

Contribution Funding
If you elect to participate in the Commuter benefit, the Jnana contribution will post to your commuter account at Anthem after the 25th of each month.

If you enroll in other eligible Anthem plans (e.g., HSA or FSA), you can use the same debit card.
Please note:
If you are transferring to Otsuka from Jnana, you are able to enroll into an unsubsidized commuter benefit. When traveling on business, you may receive reimbursement for eligible expenses based on Otsuka's Travel & Expense policy.
